If Mohammed Won’t Go to the Mountain…
If last week’s unseasonable snowfalls in the UK and across the French Alps have whet your appetite for skiing, why not get some pre-season practice in Greenwich? At the end of the month The O2 will be transformed into a mini ski resort, featuring twin artificial ski slopes, snow-covered pine trees and an après ski chalet.
Following the success of The Beach and The Ice Disco, this winter The O2 invites you to hit The Slopes, London’s first ever indoor artificial twin ski slope. Running from late November to January 09, visitors will be able to ski, snowboard or snow tube at The O2, making it THE London winter attraction.
The twin slopes, both 45 metres in length will bring the whole skiing experience even closer to the people of London. Not only will visitors be able to learn to ski or snowboard but The Slopes will be open to experienced skiers to warm up their ski/snowboard legs before heading to the mountains.
Tickets are now on sale from the official O2 website. An hour’s skiing or boarding costs £15 or £20 including ski/board rental and half an hour’s snowtubing costs £8.
Of course, there’s nothing quite like the real thing. Check out the powder in Tignes last Thursday.

If pre-season snowfalls are anything to go by looks like we have a bumber snow year in store in the French Alps!
