Meribel – The Place to Ski with Kids

Child friendly Meribel is the world’s first ski resort to introduce the Magnestick safety system which is designed to keep children glued to their seats when travelling on chairlifts. For winter 2008/2009 Meribel’s Combes and Arolles chairlifts have been equipped with magnetic plates which work in conjunction special magnetic vests. The vests will be supplied to children taking ski lessons with the ESF (they’re the guys in red).

The 2 modified chairlifts, together with the Chalets gondola, the Sittelle and Doron draglifts and the l’Ourson babylift, are a part of a mini lift network that serves a dedicated beginner zone. The brand new 12€ Méribel-Mottaret Minipass covers use of the lifts in the area, where the slopes are gentle and free of fast skiers, so that skiing novices can learn to in complete safety.
