Last Minute Market’s a One Season Wonder
Winter 08/09 will be remembered not only for the outstanding snow conditions but also for the incredible last minute ski holiday deals. While we can keep our fingers crossed that we’ll see a repeat of the snow conditions next season, it’s unlikely we’ll see the same heavy last minute discounting. In fact, it’s the early birds who’ll be getting the best deals for ski in 09/10. And here’s for why…

Last winter many holiday providers found themselves with a lot of surplus accommodation on their hands as skiers considered whether to forego their ski holiday in the light of the economic downturn. Prices were slashed across the season in an effort to off-load empty beds – great news for credit conscious bargain hunters but not such good news for the industry.
For the coming winter we are seeing ski holiday providers cutting capacity to reduce the risk of beds going unfilled or sold at a loss. So last-minute bargains will be few and far between. But it’s not all bad news for winter sports lovers. In an effort to reverse the 08/09 last-minute booking trend, holiday providers are offering their best deals NOW. There are some exceptional early bird ski deals out there so start shopping around. A good place to start is at PV-Holidays where early bookers will be rewarded with a 20% discount on selected ski holidays.
It seems then that holiday providers are taking their lead from low-cost airlines, which have successfully programmed us to book early for the best prices.
As an added incentive to get you to book now, ski flight specialist Snowjet is offering free ski or board carriage to winter sports enthusiasts who book before the end of August.
