Snowjet’s Skier Friendly Flights to Chambery

The credit crunch and high fuel prices have put airlines across the board on the back foot: cutting flights, imposing fuel surcharges on passengers and introducing higher baggage fees. Snowjet, the ski flight specialist, is resisting these trends.

While major airlines slash winter flights in anticipation of falling demand, at Snowjet we have increased our capacity on ski flights into Chambéry airport in France, because we are confident that our core market of knowledgeable winter sports enthusiasts will ski in 08/09. In fact, European destinations are likely to attract more skiers than ever since high fuel prices mean flights to Canada and North America are prohibitively expensive. The French Alps are always a popular choice, because France boasts many of the highest and most snow-sure resorts in Europe. We operate flights to Chambéry because it is the closest airport to the favourite resorts of British skiers, such as Meribel, Val d’Isere, Tignes, Courchevel, Val Thorens, Les Arcs and La Plagne.

We think of Snowjet as a virtual low-cost airline. Virtual because we do not own our own aircraft, instead we charter them when we need them from major UK charter airlines. This means we never have idle planes or expensive hanger fees, which enables us to keep our prices as low as possible. We are profitable without having to charge passengers for the essentials, such as baggage and ski carriage, which other airlines seem to think are ‘extras’. With competitive prices that are inclusive of a free 20kg baggage allowance and free ski or board carriage, Snowjet are the skier friendly service.

And Snowjet is a name you can rely upon: we are ATOL bonded, which means that in the unlikely event that we should cease trading, any money you pay to us for an advance booking will be reimbursed in full. Which is not necessarily the case when booking with a scheduled airline, as the recent high profile bankruptcies have shown. The times may be turbulent, Snowjet flights are not.

Throughout the season Snowjet offers from Gatwick to Chambéry, Stansted to Chambéry, Bristol to Chambéry and Manchester to Chambéry. For full details visit www.snowjet.co.uk.
